Wellbeing

The well being of the Young People in Scouting is an important part of what we do.  All leaders are required to have a DBS check performed when they take on a role in Scouting and this is redone every 5 years.

Part of the leader training is about Safeguarding, Safety  and First Aid (For more adventurous activities such as Mountain Hiking/ Canoeing additional training in Outdoor First aid is also required.

Young people first: safeguarding and safety in Scouting

Wherever we go and whatever we do, we put young people’s safety and wellbeing first. Here's how.

Scouts is an Equal Opportunities organisation and every effort is taken to ensure that everyone can participate and get the best of the experience.

Mental Wellbeing is also an important part of what we do, and an essential part of Scouting is outdoor activities, and spending time outdoors has been proven to improve our state of mind. There is also no shame in asking for help, here are some website links that can provide assistance.
